Action Boot Camp picks up a Kick Ass Award

Posted on May 28, 2012 by abadmin

The owners of Nottingham based Action Boot Camp have been awarded Most Promising Fitness Entrepreneur 2012.

The top 10 per cent of the fitness industry from all over the world converged at Aston University in Birmingham this weekend for the Fitness Entrepreneur Bootcamp.

85 delegates came to share ideas, learn from the world leaders and recognise those who had achieved outstanding success.

Action Boot Camp was given the award for helping Nottinghamshire people get fitter with their 8 boot camps Based throughout the county, for their work with EPIC helping children in deprived areas and for their charity work helping to raise money for Children with Leukaemia.

Co-founder of ABC Paul Eaton says: “We were shocked, there was so much competition and such a high calibre of people competing. We are thrilled to put Nottingham in the fitness spot light.

Yvonne Radley, co-founder says: “we went on Facebook straight away to let all our clients know and we’ve been receiving messages from them all day long.

“our motto in life is that fitness should be fun and for everyone. We love our job and we were thrilled to get this recognition especially as we are only in our second year, we only launched in January last year.”

Yvonne was made redundant from her Radio Newsreader job on Christmas Eve 2010 and had just enough money to survive for 3 months so she threw herself into the task of launching the company and making it a success. By August Paul was able to give up his regular job and now they both work for the company full time.

The couple met just a few months before at a boot camp where Paul was teaching and Yvonne was a cadet. “I was always the slow one running at the back, just getting on with trying to keep up. Paul was the loud, fun-loving instructor who had all the clients in stitches.”

“I think that’s one of the reasons we’ve been so successful because I don’t come from a fitness background I’m always thinking about how the client will feel, and what they would enjoy. Coming into a fitness environment when you are not feeling confident about yourself can be a very scarey thing. We try to make everyone feel welcome and get them on the way to achieving their goals.”

“We aim to inspire everyone to be the best that they can be”.

Both Yvonne and Paul are authors of their forthcoming books Pound for Pound by Paul Eaton, a nutrition, lifestyle and mind set book and Yvonne is working on her book How to Kick Ass in your First Year in The Bootcamp Business.

The event was organised by Storm Force Fitness.

Both Yvonne and Paul are available for interview.
